Anxiety increases when you pay attention to it. Do these calm activities and set a morning routine that will be exactly the same tomorrow as well. Here are 7 ways to help your mind stay healthy and calm.
PUT YOURSELF ON A NEWS DIET
Set yourself two fixed moments in the day to read or watch the news instead of checking new updates all day long.
MAKE A DAILY SCHEDULE
Research shoes that in times of stress, you’ll feel better if you have a fixed routine. Be sure to also include things like: doing nothing for half an hour, listening to music for half an hour, reading a book for an hour, and so on.
COOK SOMETHING UNEXPECTED
Your home and workplace may well be one and the same at the moment, but the things that you do can be different.
If you’re not able or allowed to go outside, take a slow walk around your garden, on your balcony or through your home.
OFF-DAYS ARE A GIVEN
Accept that you will have more of them than usual; it helps to not try to do too much on that kind of day.
DON’T FIGHT IT
Try to work with how things are. It’s okay if you may not be doing your job as well as usual, and yes, your house might be less tidy. It’s just the way it is right now.
Every evening, write down three things that went well, or that you’re thankful for, in a notebook.
